What We're Looking For

Responsibilities will be a mix of product development and quality engineering -- feature work, test automation, feature and release verification, and developing tools that help our team move faster without sacrificing quality. This is a great position for someone who wants to work in a variety of roles, build their development skills, and has a keen interest in ensuring our iOS app is stable, fast, and bug free. The candidate should be familiar with general development best practices such as Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Domain Driven Design, Refactoring, and also iOS specific best practices such as the iOS Human Interface Guidelines and how to apply them appropriately.

This role will play an integral part in supporting and growing our community of collectors, contributors, buyers, and sellers. Considering this will require working closely with other Discogs software teams, it is critical to exercise a strong sense of initiative and collaboration.

Your Wheelhouse

  • Product development and test automation in Objective-C using Xcode, Github, and other in-house tools
  • Develop and maintain software following an Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Collaborate with team members on troubleshooting and creating elegant solutions to complex problems
  • Assist with estimation and prioritization of development efforts
  • Actively engage with members of cross-functional, product-focused teams to build a variety of features
  • Provide mentoring to other developers
  • Guide technical decisions in regards to front end/UX development
  • Comfortable working with legacy code and communicating and helping prioritize technical debt

How You Got Here

  • 2 or more years experience building iOS applications for a large audience of passionate users
  • Working knowledge of of Full Stack Web Development and Object-Oriented programming
  • Preference for Open Source software tools
  • Proven track record of shipping code and getting things done
  • Experience with automated testing and test-driven development
  • Demonstrates effective communication with a global team in multiple time zones
